In order to facilitate a straight cut I carefully cut a guide groove first then go back and cut through. I've put this in a vise using a towel to prevent damaging the tube. I tightened the vise only slightly so that the tube will still turn if I force it, but held in place securely enough to make this cut. Don't want to clamp this so tightly that it distorts the shape.
