HHO Dry Cell Terms & Definitions
Terminology Used to Define the Different Aspects of Construction and Use of the
Typical Hydrogen Generator Electrolysis Apparatus
The problem with the constuction of the typical dry cell utilizing neutral plates to create individual cells to
reduce cell voltage for improved efficiency has left many of us without a clear understanding on how to refer to the
differnt parts of a cell during discussion or for problem solving. Here I will try and identify each part of a dry cell
to facilitate the ability for us to layout and trouble shoot these remarkable cells.
- Dry Cell — One electrolysis unit consisting of one more
more Main Cells. The plates used for electrolysis are separated by gaskets to trap the water or electrolyte between the
plates so the outside of the cell remains dry. Gaskets also maintain Individual Cell spacing.
- Main Cell — Part of an electrolysis apparatus consisting of
one positive (+) and one negative (-) plate and possible one or more neutral plates.
- Individual Cell — This is the individual cell between a
single positive (+) and a single negative (-) plate, or between a single positive (+) and a single neutral plate, or
between a single neutral plate and single negative (-) plate, or between a single neutral plate and another single
neutral plate.
