I fabricated end pieces that have a hole drilled in the center to hole the brass rods which will keep the steel rod centered in the conduit. Since these fit perfectly in the ID of the conduit I grooved it so air can pass easily. The brass sleeve made from 1/4" copper tube will keep the steel rod from sliding all the way back when air flow hits it.
